Admission
Admission to Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University (LUVNU) and education (training) of foreigners and persons without citizenship (stateless persons) is executed according to Laws of Ukraine “About Higher Education”, “About Legal Status of Foreigners and Persons Without Citizenship”, “About Foreign Ukrainians”, “About refugees and persons in need of additional or temporary protection”, Decrees of President of Ukraine since 03.06.1994, №271 «About Means of Development of Economy Cooperation Development of Ukrainian Regions with Neighbouring Border Regions of Republic of Belarus and Administrative and Territorial Units of Republic of Moldova»; Enactments of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine since September, 11th, 2013, №684 “Some Issues of Education Admission for Foreign Students and Persons Without Citizenship”; Order of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine since November, 1st, 2013, №1541 «Some Issues of Organization of Enrolling and Education (training) of Foreigners and Persons Without Citizenship», registered at Ministry of Justice since November, 25th, 2013, №2004/24536.
Foreigners and stateless persons (hereinafter – foreigners) can get higher education at the expense of individuals and/or entities unless otherwise provided by international treaties of Ukraine ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, laws, or agreements between the universities of international academic mobility. Foreigners who receive state scholarships by international agreements, National programs, and other international obligations of Ukraine are accepted for study in the frame of established admission quotas for Higher Educational Institutions of Ukraine on grounds of directions of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine.
Foreigners who come to Ukraine to study join the University’s accredited educational programs (specialities).
If you want to become a student of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University:
- Choose the level of studies (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD) and program of study* see the list of accredited programs.
- Apply for the Invitation for Study (send to inter-dep@vnu.edu.ua the following documents:
- scanned copy of the valid foreigner’s international passport (page with photo);
- scanned copy of previous education documents (high school certificate, Bachelor’s degree certificate, Master’s degree certificate) and scanned copy of supplement;
- scanned copy of signed Consent to the processing of personal data;
- pay for your Invitation https://intered.com.ua/pay)
- Apply for a long-stay stay visa (type D) to Ukraine at your country’s Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate.
Important: To secure a long-stay visa (type D), a prospective student must submit a series of documents to the consulate or Embassy of Ukraine in their respective country as specified on the Embassy’s website. The original ‘Invitation for study’ is always required regardless of the submission location. We underline that the documents from your previous education must be officially certified before submission to the consulate. This can be achieved through two methods: legalisation by the Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Embassy of Ukraine in your country, or certification by Apostille stamp and legalisation at the Embassy of Ukraine in your country. These documents must be officially recognised in Ukraine so a Ukrainian university can issue your diploma certificate upon graduation.
- Obtain a visa and arrive at the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
- Provide Specialists for Work with Foreign Students and Tutors with:
- The original valid international passport and two translations into Ukrainian notarised in Ukraine or another document proving a stateless person with an issued D-type visa for countries with a visa entry procedure;
- The original document on previous education and its supplement translated into Ukrainian and notarized in Ukraine;
- Six photos;
Pass the entrance exams, receive the results, and finish admission procedures.
